It certainly seems that Manx viewers would do well to boycott both ITV Granada Reports and BBC North West Tonight – and stick with Isle of Man TV- which you can only get through You Tube. Do write to both ITV Granada (email: granada.reports@itv.com) and both BBC North West Tonight (email: nwt@bbc.co.uk) to tell them that you are doing this because the new- coverage of the Isle of Man (a country in its own right) is shocking. Get your family and friends to boycott BBC North West Tonight and ITV1 Granada Reports too, and to write to explain why they are doing this.
It is really bad when you have to rely on local radio stations and You Tube channels to get news- coverage of your own country. Even Rwanda, one of the poorest small countries in the World has a Television station!

Since BBC North West Tonight and ITV Granada Reports are supposed to cover the Isle of Man- as viewers there receive their programming OFCOM will respond to your complaints about lack of coverage on the Isle of Man. However, depending on whether it is BBC North West Tonight or ITV Granada Reports there are different complaint forms which are:

The government is waiting for approval to trial a digital BBC Isle of Man news programme.
Policy and Reform Minister Ray Harmer explained the current status, in a statement on BBC TV Licensing in Tynwald.
He spoke about the relationship with the BBC and Manx Radio, with a reciprocal sharing agreement of news content.
But, Mr Harmer said they could capitalise further on BBC TV Licensing with similar ‘opt-out’ systems to the Channel Islands:

But how about a 15-minute opt-out for the Isle of Man on BBC North West Tonight- or better- a new TV Region for the Isle of Man in it’s own right? Ditto for Cumbria/ North Lancashire!

It’s good that the BBC is finally waking up to the fact that coverage of the Isle of Man- a small country in its own right- is not acceptable and that the island needs its own Regional News programming. South Cumbrian viewers of BBC North West Tonight have a ready- made TV alternative that covers Cumbria very well called ITV Border (though some of them might need to tweak their TV aerials or get their telly’s re-programmed to get ITV Border rather than ITV Granada). However, the Isle of Man has no proper TV service providing bespoke coverage of the Isle of Man.
Do keep up the pressure on the BBC to provide an Isle of Man opt-out by writing (not just emailing) to OFCOM at ths address:

Do get your friends locally to do the same as it looks like the BBC are finally waking up to the fact that they need to do something about Isle of Man coverage. They need another push (from above- by OFCOM) to fully convince them that they have do to something about it because coverage (from the two main North West England based Regional TV News services) is 95% irrelevant to Manx viewers.

You may be interested to note that there have been discussions between the BBC and the Manx government about the BBC providing the Isle of Man with a video news- service. This is not the same as a full- on Regional TV service and, I must say, it is doubtful that the BBC will even go as far as to provide an opt-out from the main BBC North West programming (the article I mention is here: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-isle-of-man-57512636 ). The Channel Islands have their own news- programming and thus, so should the Isle of Man because it is a country in its own right. For Manx viewers, nothing that does not happen on the Isle of Man is local or directly relevant to viewers there.
It’s certainly worth writing to your Government to get them to appreciate that this is serious and that local, relevant and timely news- coverage is a Public service just like bin- collections. Even very poor countries like Rwanda have their own TV service, so folk should expect nothing less than the Government to ensure that there is funding for a proper Manx TV News service.
The £157.50 that Manx households pay each year via the TV Licence fee would pay for a TV News service just for the Isle of Man: Thus the Manx government should tell folk not to pay the TV Licence fee to the UK’s TV Licensing authority but to pay it into a pot to be used to set up the Isle of Man’s own TV service. The worst that’s likely to happen is the BBC cut transmission to the Isle of Man – but if nothing on the BBC is relevant to Manx viewers why should they pay that large sum of money?
